Professional Training Services:
We took the lead to develop The Workshops 40 years ago when the services to communities, families and youth began to expand and the need for professional development grew. With learning as one of its core values – Good Shepherd Services focuses on fostering bold leadership, skill development, social change and advocacy -- to make a difference in the lives of children, youth, families and communities. The fields of family and child welfare, social innovation and entrepreneurship, employment services, public education, community development, and youth and family work are forever changing and evolving to meet the complex and emerging needs of our city. The Workshops are designed to be responsive to this need and bring innovative ideas, promising practices and evidence-informed models to professionals in New York City and surrounding areas. The Workshops are engaging, inter-active and organized to build skills and bring compassion into our work.
Our workshops are organized into seven inter-related areas:
- Trauma-Informed Practice
- Continuing Education for Social Work Licensure
- Leadership and Supervisory Skills
- Skills Development
- Engagement Tools
- Self-Renewal and Personal Development
- CASAC Renewal
