Safe Homes Project
SHP is staffed by bachelor level counselor-advocates who have received training in all aspects of working with survivors of domestic violence. These counselor-advocates assist survivors with safety-planning, individual counseling, benefits, and needed referrals. They also facilitate support groups. In addition to the counselor-advocates, SHP’s shelter facility has a team of family development counselors, who provide 24-hour coverage and assist residents in adjusting to the shelter. SHP is led by a master’s level program director, who supervises staff and interns.
