Brooklyn Network
Since 1972, when we opened a family counseling and support program as the first of our community-based programs in the borough, Good Shepherd has established deep roots in the South Brooklyn neighborhoods of Park Slope, Red Hook and Gowanus. More recently, we have extended our presence to other Brooklyn communities. We have steadily built a network of support that extends from childhood, through middle school, high school and beyond; clustering programs within specific neighborhoods and schools so that children, youth and families can benefit from as full a range of services as possible. By actively partnering with the NYC public school system, non-profits, corporations and other institutions in the community, we have been able to expand the seamless web of support and enrichment that is so critical if vulnerable young people are to succeed over time.
