Recognizing our Mentors and Volunteers
Youth from our residential and foster boarding home programs decorated the common areas of St. Helena’s Residence and prepared numerous tasty dishes for the recent Mentor and Volunteer Recognition Dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and family-like as the assembled youth, staff, mentors and volunteers enjoyed dinner and socialized. As with all our group gatherings involving mentors, attendees also included youth who have expressed an interest in the mentoring program but have not yet committed, thus giving them the chance to observe mentor/mentee pairs and learn more about the relationship.
Mentoring Coordinator Shirley Salomon formally thanked the mentors and volunteers for their dedication, creativity, and ongoing commitment to our youth. She stressed the value of the wonderful moments and rich events and projects that have emerged as a result of our partnerships with mentors, alumnae, volunteers and partner agencies/corporations.
