Our Bronx
Participants from our after-school programs in the Bronx took to the stage on June 8th for the annual Good Shepherd Alliance for Youth Talent Show. “Our children have been working several months for this performance,” wrote the staff in the show’s program, “and we have seen them grow not only in talent, but also in their character and attitude toward the performance. It is astonishing how much talent can be found in our children. We are positive that the show will be spectacular.”
An audience of family and friends seemed to very much agree with the above prediction as they enjoyed twenty-one separate acts, which included hip-hop, tap, and mambo dancing, sign language accompaniment for ‘Open Your Heart, America’, a duet of ‘Peace On Earth,’ and a group reading of the communally written poem ‘Our Bronx.’
