It’s Christmas Time in the City…..
Longtime Good Shepherd supporter Richard Fields and iconic toy store FAO Schwartz teamed up to give young people from our afterschool programs in Brooklyn and the Bronx the holiday celebration of a lifetime.
Early in the morning on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, nearly 200 kindergarten students and first-graders were treated to breakfast, a puppet show, face-painting and a session on the legendary giant piano. The FAO Schwartz staff pulled out all the stops to make the event special for our children.
Most special of all, of course, was a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and receive a personalized gift. Prior to the event, each child had written a letter requesting a specific gift, and The Fields Family Foundation and FAO Schwartz made their wishes come true.
