Beautification in the Bronx
Through The After-School Corporation (TASC) our TASC-funded After-School Center at PS/MS 3 hosted a beautification project for the school and surrounding grounds on National and Global Youth Service Day, when millions of young people in countries all over the world carry out community service projects. Flowers were planted and student-designed murals depicting seasonal and musical themes were painted on the school walls. Although the project had to be pushed back a few weeks when it rained on the original date, 150 Americorps volunteers still came out to work with our young people, and the results will be enjoyed by PS/MS 3 students for years to come.
