Grady High Talent Showcase
Good Shepherd's new after-school program at Grady High School in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn started off its second semester in operation with an exuberant display of the skills acquired by the students so far.
The Talent Showcase featured performances by the Grady After-School Dance, Poetry, Steel Band and Stepping Teams, as well as a display from the Fashion Design team. Members of the programs' Junior Achievement and Web Design Teams took part in the show by working backstage and serving as ushers.
The After-School Center at Grady High School is a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CLC). Funded by the US Department of Education, 21st Century CLCs provide enrichment activities during out-of-school time to students in high-need communities. Good Shepherd recently opened two additional 21st Century CLC programs at the School for Community Research and Learning and Grace Dodge High School in the Bronx.
