Bank Awards Scholarships to GSS Youth
Seven young people from our Liberty Partnership Program and one from our residential program were recently awarded scholarships by the Emigrant Savings Bank Community Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was established in 1988 by Emigrant Savings Bank to assist needy and deserving students with college expenses. The $1,000 one-academic year award is offered to qualified candidates that "demonstrated superior academic promise as well as a keen commitment to community service." The scholarships will supply much-needed funds to our young people who will be attending the following colleges: Syracuse University, College of Rochelle, Francis Marion University, College of New Rochelle, St. Joseph's College, and Marymount College of Fordham University. Two of our young people are receiving the award for the second time-they are currently on the Dean's List at Albertus Magnus College. We wish to congratulate them all on their hard work and perseverance!
