A Holiday Season to Remember

This past Holiday season was celebrated throughout all of our programs here at Good Shepherd.  Programs held parties to celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and the New Year! As you may know, the holiday season can be a particularly difficult time for our young people and families.  But, because of the donations we received from some very generous corporations and individuals as part of our Holiday Gift Drive, we were able to make a difference that will extend way beyond the holiday season.

We collected a wide of array of toys, clothing, gift certificates, and gift baskets which were distributed throughout our foster boarding home, residential and community-based programs.  Additional cash contributions enabled us to cover the costs of holiday parties and to direct funds to individuals in particular need.  Through our "Adopt-A-Family" program, we developed wish lists for some of our most needy families, and these were  filled by employees of the company that chose to adopt them. Our staff, youth, and families were deeply touched by the level of generosity and compassion that was extended to Good Shepherd by so many caring people.
