SLE Celebrates its 3rd Annual Commencement Rites of Passage Ceremony

The School for Leadership in the Environment celebrated its 3rd Annual Commencement Rites of Passage Ceremony on Friday, June 21st 2002.  The event, sponsored and hosted by Good Shepherd Services, honored the young graduates of Red Hook's middle school.  Located at PS 27, SLE provides a learning experience that consists of academic training, environmental education and community service activities.  The Rites of Passage ceremony, a tradition at SLE, symbolizes each student's ascent into a higher level of learning and young adulthood.  The commencement celebrates the Class of 2002's departure for high school, and the passing down of responsibility and leadership to the next incoming class.
